Parentpoints Consulting is the brainchild of Daron Barker, who formulated this vision in 1999 with the inception of the Parentpoints Points Method™ concept.

As Daron discussed his insights with parents, educators, social service providers, government officials, and members of the religious community, the need for a viable solution became absolutely clear and we had that solution. Starting in North Little Rock, AR and Atlanta, GA, Our company began to grow by leaps and bounds.

The initial name of the consulting division of Parentpoints was known as Parentpoints Consulting Service. In February 2006, we adopted the name Human Motivational Council as part of a partnership arrangement with a mentor of Mr. Barker. Six months later, the mentor decided to move in a different direction. Mr. Barker said his grandmother would have told him to take life's lemons and make Lemon-aid. We decided to keep the initials HMC to mark the time in Parentpoints history. In a co-creative experience, different members of the company were asked to offer to meanings for the acronym. The team came up with the following meanings to represent our company:

HMC - Human Motivational Council (results of a mistake by the T-shirt vendor)
HMC - Helping Motivate Change
HMC - Healing, Motivating, Correcting

Our consultants are available to coach, train and conduct workshops, seminars, keynotes and staff developments services.
